About
The Hachimantai area is blessed with some of the best dry powder in Tohoku. You will first gain altitude with a dedicated snowcat and then hike up for about an hour to access higher ground. The end goal is a vast skiing field. The tour will take a full day, including climbing back up and down, allowing us to select slopes with the best conditions. The use of a cat allows you to focus on skiing allowing you to conserve your energy.

7:30 AM Clubman Clubhouse: Gathering, registration, equipment check, introduction 8:00 AM Clubman Clubhouse: Departure 8:30 AM Cat ride starts: Full day tour 2:00 PM Tour ends 2:30 PM Return to Clubman Clubhouse then departure
・ Open to junior high school students and above (Junior high school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) ・ Intermediate level or higher in both skiing and snowboarding ・ Experience in deep snow skiing ・ Experience in hiking We will ask you about your level in advance.
Riding Gear: * Skis (Alpine, Telemark, AT). Ski center width of 85mm or more is recommended. Carving skis are not allowed. Powder ski rentals are available for a fee. * Snowboards (Splitboards are recommended). Required equipment: Avalanche beacon, shovel, probe, backpack, hiking gear (skins, snowshoes), ski poles, helmet Food and beverages: Bring something to replenish energy during rest stops. Lunch with boiled water is available at the Mt. Chausu shelter hut. ・ All necessary gear can be rented: ・ Powder skis: 4,400 yen ・ Skins/snowshoes: 1,650 yen ・ Powder poles: 1,100 yen ・ Backpack: 1,100 yen ・ Avalanche gear set: 3,300 yen ・ Helmet: 550 yen (All prices include taxes)
