About

We will take you up a high pine slope to a point with a great view of Lake Kussharo in Akan Mashu National Park. This is an easy snow tour to enjoy real winter mountain scenery. There are other points with good views in addition to the peak, and we will guide you to the recommended points depending on your physical strength. During tea time on the way, we will enjoy nature while admiring the expansive view. Half-day (2 hours) and full-day (4.5 hours) tours are available. Itinerary

One-day (4.5 hours) tour: From 9:00 am but your preferred time might be available. Sample itinerary: 08:30 Meet at Kawayu Visitor Center and register 09:00 Arrival at the site 11:30 Lunch in the field (prepared by each participant before the tour) 13:30 Activity ends

Requirements

Level: Beginner to intermediate (appropriate for first-timers in mountain snow) ・ Elementary school students and older ・ We do not allow people with health concerns, people who have been prohibited from exercising by a doctor, and pregnant women. ・ For minors parental consent is required. ・ Please follow the guide's instructions for your own safety during the tour.

Equipment

What to bring: ・ Waterproof clothing ・ Base layer of synthetic fiber or wool (not cotton) ・ Fleece ・ Down or synthetic fiber insulation ・ Winter gloves x 2 (including spare) ・ 2 pairs of socks (for fitting boots) ・ Balaclavas, neck warmers, etc. ・ Hat (beanie, etc.) ・ Sunglasses ・ Backpack (about 30L) ・ Insulated bottle (hot drink) ・ Other (food, camera, sunscreen, etc.) Rental items: ・ Snowshoes or nature skis (please select gear at time of reservation) ・ Snow boots or ski boots ・ Snow poles ・ Backpack * Rental items are included in the price.
