伊藤 東凌 Toryo Ito

Bio

Born in 1980​,​ Ito is the vice-head priest of Ryosokuin Temple​,​ Kenninji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism and Representative Director of InTrip Inc. After training at a specialized dojo of the Kenninji school​,​ he has been in charge of zazen instruction at Ryosokuin for 15 years. He aims to connect modernity and tradition​,​ transcending the boundaries between disciplines​,​ with a focus on art. His international activities include holding Zen seminars at the Facebook headquarters in the U.S. and teaching Zen in France​,​ Germany​,​ and Denmark. In April 2020​,​ he founded "Unze​,​" a global meditation community​,​ and in July 2020​,​ "InTrip​,​" an app to incorporate Zen into daily life. He has been a well-being mentor for overseas companies and executive coach for several domestic companies. He has also supervised numerous hotel space designs​,​ apparel brands​,​ and more. He is the author of "Monday Meditation: A New Habit at the Beginning of the Week to Lighten Your Head and Heart.”

The experience of climbing Ayers Rock.

What humans are fundamentally connected to. Human beings are a part of nature.

Q: What has nature taught you?

I learned the basics of zazen from a large tree. I learned how to think from the water in the river and the flow of clouds.

Q: What do you hope that people will get out of experiences with you as a guide?

I want you to sharpen your five senses and help you regain your natural intuition.
