ムービング イン Moving Inn
A New Lodging Experience, Turning a Car Stay into a Resort
At Moving Inn, we believe that the best way to travel is to experience the "best moment in the best place". We are very particular about the location, privacy, and freedom of the places where our guests stay during their travels. We propose adventures in deep nature using two "mobile hotels," a trailer house and a campervan.
At Moving Inn, our staff personally travel around Hokkaido to discover the charms of each region, and as a travel concierge for our guests, we hope to convey these charms to as many people as possible.
Q: What is your most memorable experience in nature?
A tent sauna and wild bath experience at Lake Kussharo, Hokkaido, Japan. It was a relatively free playground with no warning signs and we had a great time. At the same time, I was impressed by the fact that despite the many people who use the area, the environment was beautifully maintained with very little trash.
Q: What does nature represent to you?
Especially in today's daily life, we are so overloaded with information that we seem to have no time to stop and take interest in things that occur to us. When I travel in the nature of Hokkaido, there are many things, from the smallest to the largest, that impress me with how well they are made. It is like a switch to rekindle my interest in things around me, by keeping my attention on beautiful sights or fascinating animals, insects, plants, and trees.
Q: What has nature taught you?
When I face nature on my own, I feel humbled in front of its grandeur, and when I see the discoveries of our predecessors and the huge man-made structures they have created, I am emboldened by their spirit in the face of nature. It makes me realize that human beings are very strange and interesting creatures.
Q: What do you hope that people will get out of experiences with you as a guide?
I believe that getting away from the daily routine and being genuinely moved by the nature of Hokkaido will give you an opportunity to stop and think about things carefully. I hope that together we will be able to gain a single moment of interest or awareness, and spend a moment to pause in the midst of our busy lives.
