Myoko Kogen
Myoko Kogen is part of the Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park, home to five major resorts—Akakura Onsen, Akakura Kanko, Ikenotaira, Suginohara, and Seki Onsen—plus vast sidecountry and lift-accessed backcountry. With terrain ranging from mellow powder fields to steep technical chutes, this area caters to every rider.
Unlike more crowded areas like Niseko, Myoko remains an under-the-radar gem with world-class powder. Local communities are embracing high-end eco-tourism while preserving the area’s spiritual and alpine traditions.
Access from Tokyo is only a little more than 2 hours, with a ride on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano followed by a local train to Myoko-Kogen Station.
